The Journey

What Happens Next?

First meeting

I’ll begin by meeting with you and any family or friends who want to be involved, so I can learn as much as I can about your loved one and what you’d like for the ceremony. Don’t worry – it’s not an interview! We’ll just have a relaxed, friendly conversation.

During our discussion, we’ll talk about which elements you and your loved ones will take care of, and what I can help with. You’ll make the final decisions on things like music, poems, readings, and any symbolic or spiritual elements, and then let me know your choices. If you’re planning to write the tribute (eulogy), please send it to me at least three working days before the ceremony. This allows me to check the timing and ensure everything flows smoothly.

If you’d prefer, I write the tribute for you, I’ll do so and send it to you for approval within three working days of our meeting. This is a good time to suggest any additions or corrections, so the tribute feels right for you. Once the tribute is finalised, I’ll integrate it into the full ceremony script, including all the elements we’ve discussed.

On the day

On the day of the ceremony, I’ll be waiting at the venue, ready to lead the service. My aim is to ensure you and your loved ones can say goodbye with a meaningful and memorable ceremony that truly reflects your loved one’s life. Afterward, I’ll send you the full script of the ceremony in a presentation folder, so you have a lasting memento of the day.

Preperation

After everything is confirmed, I’ll send the order of service details to your Funeral Director, who will prepare the service booklet. If you’re having a photo on the order of service or a slideshow, be sure to send the photos to them.

Final arrangements

As for payment, if you're using a Funeral Director, they will handle the payment as part of the celebrant’s standard charge. For memorial services arranged directly with me, payment is due before the ceremony. We’ll discuss the cost when we meet, as it may vary depending on the details and additional services you may need.
